OUR HERITAGE
When Joseph Libertini, a licensed funeral director for twenty five years, purchased H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, he inherited a tradition of excellence and service few communities can boast of. Cudney Funeral Home, at 241 West Main Street, Welland, has won national praise from both industry associations and national trade magazines. Founded in 1934 by husband and wife funeral directors, Harold and Marion Cudney, Cudney Funeral Home was built on a commitment to sensitivity, service and attentional to detail. Through the years, it has grown to be the establishment of choice to thousands of Welland and area families in their time of need. Cudney Funeral Home has only changed hands four times in it's 75 year history. Up until the mid-nineties, it was still in the Cudney family being run by the Cudney's daughter Carol and husband Larry Cooney.
Joseph Libertini is proud to be able to celebrate the 75th anniversary this year as the owner and hopes to celebrate many more. "One of the things that is built into the ongoing business here in the continuity of service. Sandy MacIver has been with the firm for 40 years and Garret Smits for 17 years. It's hard to find that kind of familiarity and in times when a loved one has passes on, it's nice to know the level of experience is always going to be here at Cudney's" says Mr. Libertini.
H.L. Cudney Funeral Home is a landmark on West Main Street and is one of the most attractive buildings anywhere in the peninsula. Attention to detail continues inside with a true feeling of ease and tranquility. At a time when a family has lost a loved one, Cudney Funeral Home will endeavour to meet the family's every need with comfortable surroundings and caring and sensitive staff.
